If you die without a will, the laws of the State of Georgia will determine how your property is distributed.  

A will give you the power to:

• decide who will get your property
• reduce the taxes on your estate
• provide for future generations
• protect family members who may not be able to look after themselves
• donate to charity  

 Is your will still valid?

• Was your will signed in another state?
• Have you married or divorced since your will was created?
• Has your family grown?  If so, you need to appoint guardians…
• Did you sign a fill-in-the-blank will that was not prepared by an attorney?
• Have you acquired or sold any property since your will was created?
